About Debar
Debar sits on the shore of artificial Lake Debar, formed on the Black Drim River close to the Albanian border in the Southwest Region. It's long been known as a spa town, with mineral-rich thermal springs drawing visitors for their health benefits, set against a backdrop of mountains on nearly every side. The town's mixed Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish population reflects its position as a historic crossroads near the border.
