Gostivar

Gostivar lies in the Polog Valley at the foot of Šar Mountain, just downriver from Tetovo and sharing the same dramatic mountain backdrop. It's a markedly multicultural town, with Macedonian, Albanian and Turkish communities living side by side, and an economy built largely on agriculture from the fertile valley floor. The surrounding mountains make it a quieter gateway to the same alpine landscapes that draw visitors to neighboring Tetovo.
