About Ohrid
Ohrid is one of the oldest and most striking cities on the Balkan Peninsula, set on the shore of Lake Ohrid — one of Europe's oldest and deepest lakes. The city holds a rare dual UNESCO World Heritage designation, recognised for both its natural and cultural significance. Above the old town rises the Samuel's Fortress, surrounded by more than 365 churches and an old bazaar, while a lakeside promenade leads to the iconic Church of St John at Kaneo.
