Mavrovo Ski Resort
Macedonia's largest ski resort
Mavrovo is by far the most developed ski resort in North Macedonia, set within Mavrovo National Park — one of the largest protected areas on the Balkan Peninsula. The ski area spans 1,255 to 1,850 metres on Mount Bistra, offering over 30 km of marked slopes across all difficulty levels.
The ski season typically runs December to March, with peak snow cover in January and February. The resort has hotels, mountain lodges and restaurants on the mountain, along with ski school instruction and equipment rental at the base area.
Mavrovo Lake — a reservoir created by a dam — provides a striking winter panorama just minutes from the slopes. The surrounding national park is popular for snowshoeing and winter hiking on marked trails.

National Park & Bigorski Monastery
Mavrovo National Park covers over 73,000 hectares. In winter it is popular for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on marked trails.
