Popova Šapka Ski Resort
ABOUT THE RESORT
Macedonia's highest-altitude ski area
Popova Šapka is the highest-altitude ski resort in North Macedonia, with a base elevation of 1,780 metres — the highest base of all three resorts. This means a longer season and more reliable snow conditions.
Located on Šar Mountain near Tetovo, Popova Šapka offers over 20 km of slopes with spectacular views toward Tetovo and the Skopje valley. The resort is popular with local skiers and less known to foreign tourists — good news for those looking for uncrowded slopes.
Snow conditions at Popova Šapka are among the best in the country due to its high elevation and northern exposure. The season sometimes extends into April in good years.
